Presidential Citation at the Small and Medium Business Convergence Expo

On the 9th of last month, Kim Hak-do, Chairman of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, spoke at the meeting between the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency and the Korea Federation of SMEs held in Daejeon.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 29th that it received the Presidential Citation in recognition of its contribution to promoting the convergence of small and medium enterprises at the '2022 Small Business Convergence Expo' held at the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center.

Hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Ulsan City, this event recruited candidates among entrepreneurs and organizations that created successful cases through the activation of convergence activities such as exchange and cooperation. A total of 20 government awards, including the Gold Tower Industrial Medal and the Presidential Citation, were finally selected, and SBC was the only organization to receive the Presidential Citation.

SBC was recognized for its contribution to creating customized support achievements for small and medium enterprises through active convergence activities. In particular, it is known to have scored highly in successful cases such as ▲supporting the major transformation to an ESG (environment, social, governance) and carbon-neutral economic structure based on a public-private council ▲resolving export logistics difficulties through collaboration with related organizations ▲and fostering specialized personnel in new industries based on industry-academia-research exchange and cooperation.

Chairman Kim Hak-do said, "For small and medium enterprises to respond to the industrial structure transformation, it is essential to create synergy through collaboration between companies and convergence among various businesses," adding, "As the frontline policy support institution for small and medium enterprises and startups, SBC will continue to lead convergence activities and support the innovative growth of small and medium enterprises."
