S-1's 'Serious Accident Prevention Intelligent CCTV' Inquiries Surge
AI Automatically Detects Helmet Wearing, Entry into Hazardous Areas, etc.

Since the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act (hereinafter referred to as the Serious Accidents Act), companies have shown increasing interest in safety solutions that apply advanced technologies to reduce construction costs and improve operational efficiency. This is because industrial accidents have not decreased despite the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Act, and for small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, cost burdens are cited as obstacles to investment in accident prevention.
According to S-1 on the 29th, inquiries from companies about the 'Intelligent CCTV for Serious Accident Prevention,' which can be applied according to the size of the workplace, have significantly increased. Recently, S-1 introduced the 'Safety Environment SVMS (Smart Video Management System),' which integrates artificial intelligence (AI) technology into CCTV to prevent various accidents including falls at large workplaces. For small and medium workplaces, they launched 'SVMS Safety Monitoring,' which prevents accidents caused by worker negligence.
First, the Safety Environment SVMS applies technology optimized for large workplaces with many high-altitude tasks and a high risk of falls. The 'Virtual Fence' algorithm sets areas with fall risks and sends an alarm to the manager when a worker enters that area to help prevent accidents. The 'Fall Detection' algorithm quickly identifies injured persons in the event of a possible fall accident to minimize damage. Additionally, nine algorithms automatically recognize human behaviors and patterns such as not wearing safety gear, pushing or tilting drums, and entering hazardous zones, enabling rapid response in dangerous situations. This solution is mainly introduced in large workplaces such as semiconductor and display factories. S-1 expects it to be utilized in various industrial safety-related workplaces including oil refining, automotive, and steel industries.

'SVMS Safety Monitoring' provides six algorithms to check compliance with safety manuals, such as detecting the absence of safety helmets or gas masks and identifying lone workers. With an automatic notification function, AI automatically analyzes dangerous situations and notifies managers, who can then broadcast warnings. It allows for quick response with minimal personnel and can be monitored via a mobile app even without on-site management staff.
The video analysis solution applied to S-1’s intelligent CCTV for serious accident prevention has been renewing its performance certification from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) for 10 consecutive years. It has also been proven technologically reliable by being used at national events attended by world leaders, such as the 2010 G20 Summit and the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit. An S-1 official stated, "Inquiries about intelligent CCTV have increased since the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act," adding, "As a company responsible for social safety, we will continue to develop various solutions to prevent serious accidents."
