Yuseonghun, Geumcheon District Mayor, Holds 2023 Major Work Plan Report Meeting... Owen Seok, Dobong District Mayor, Hosts 100-Day Talk Show for the 8th Term


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) will hold the '2023 Major Work Plan Report Meeting' for five days from September 26 to 30 to mark 2023, when the 8th term of the local government officially begins, as the first year of growth into an innovation city.


All departments of Geumcheon-gu, the local public corporation Geumcheon-gu Facilities Management Corporation, and public institutions such as the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation will participate in this report meeting. Through the meeting, the major policy directions and promotion strategies of the district for next year will be established, and the progress of key projects by each department will be reviewed.


Geumcheon-gu has set the vision for the 8th term as "Forward-moving Geumcheon, Proud Geumcheon Era" and has established plans to steadily promote regional development and improve residents' welfare. Various resident-friendly and highly perceptible projects have been discovered, and linkage plans have been prepared by closely reviewing national tasks and major policies of Seoul City. In addition, strategic and rational implementation plans have been prepared by linking national-level promotion strategies to departmental goals to achieve targets.


To ensure residents' safety from disasters, plans include ▲ Establishing a flood and water disaster response system for G-Valley Complex 2 (Water Management Division) and other flood and water disaster countermeasures ▲ Securing safety on school routes around construction sites (Architecture Division).


Also, to improve the residential environment and step forward as a gateway city, projects have been established such as ▲ Promoting private redevelopment (Rapid Integrated Planning) and public redevelopment maintenance projects (Residential Maintenance Division) ▲ Redevelopment around Seoksu Station area and creation of Siheung Distribution Market Urban Advanced Logistics Complex (Urban Planning Division).


Support for socially vulnerable groups will also be strengthened. ▲ Establishing an investment fund to support youth startups (Job and Youth Division) ▲ Providing strong support for youth preparing for independence through the 'Independence Manse' program (Child and Youth Division) ▲ Creating Siheung Valley and Healing Omion (五美苑) so residents can comfortably stay and rest in a green city (Parks and Greenery Division) ▲ Operating four-season representative festivals (Culture and Sports Division), among a total of 406 projects including 83 new projects.


Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon stated, "The outlook is not bright due to natural disasters caused by recent climate change, demographic changes such as low birthrate and aging, and soaring prices due to international instability. We will strive to operate the district government more flexibly in the face of an uncertain future."

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will hold an honest and empathetic talk show 'Together Talk' to communicate with residents on October 7 at 3 p.m. in the Dobong-gu Office studio to mark 100 days of the 8th term local government.


This 60-minute talk show is prepared to discuss the stories of the first 100 days of the newly started 8th term in Dobong and the future ahead. The talk show will be broadcast live on Dobong-gu's official YouTube channel ‘Dobongbong TV’, and anyone can participate.


Mayor Oh Eon-seok will explain on-site administrative actions such as opening the Jungnangcheon multipurpose plaza parking lot and suspending parking enforcement, and listen directly to residents' opinions on youth policies and other upcoming district issues.


During the program, there will be various participation events for viewers, such as quizzes on 'Pride of 100 Days' and three-line acrostic poems in the comments.


Mayor Oh said, "I want to directly check residents' comments and hear unfiltered voices from residents. Since there have been few opportunities to meet many residents simultaneously like this, I plan to thoroughly explain the process and results of Dobong-gu's changes and growth to the residents."
