Donation of 2 Million KRW for Pohang Disaster Relief... Sharing Difficulties in Pohang Area Together

The Gumi City Women's Association donated 4 million won to the City Scholarship Foundation.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] On the 28th at 11:40 AM, the Gumi City Scholarship Foundation held a meaningful event at the City Hall International Trade Cooperation Office, where the president and members of the Gumi City Women's Association attended to donate a scholarship fund of 4 million KRW.

At the donation ceremony, eight executives including the president of the Women's Association attended and donated a total of 4 million KRW, combining 2 million KRW from President Shin Kyungeun's personal funds and 2 million KRW from the Gumi City Women's Association membership fees, to foster outstanding local talents and prestigious schools.

Additionally, 2 million KRW was donated as typhoon damage recovery funds to help alleviate the difficulties of Pohang citizens and share their pain.

Mayor Kim Jangho said, “I am grateful to the Gumi City Women's Association for their interest in Gumi City education and their donation. We will manage the donated scholarship funds sincerely to create the best educational environment and serve as a strong support for talents who will shine in the future,” and asked for continued interest going forward.

The Gumi City Women's Association was established in 1989 and currently consists of 17 organizations with 21,358 members, actively working to create a family-friendly environment, empower women, and promote gender equality projects.
