Uiryeong-gun Provides Essential Dental Care for Survival from Childhood

Implementation of Customized Mobile Bus Oral Dental Clinic Service Visiting Every Corner of the Neighborhood

Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam operates a mobile bus clinic to manage children's dental care.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam, is gaining positive responses by promoting the basic rule that teeth should be cared for from an early age for a comfortable old age and establishing dental care policies for children.

Uiryeong-gun will implement a customized mobile dental bus project from October 4 to November 30 to manage the oral health of children in dental medical underserved areas within the region.

Starting with Yugok Elementary School, the mobile dental bus equipped with mobile medical equipment from the Uiryeong-gun Public Health Center will sequentially visit 11 elementary schools, including affiliated kindergartens, serving 228 students. Professional personnel such as dentists, dental hygienists, and oral health officers will conduct on-site examinations.

This project aims to help children preserve their natural teeth as much as possible through early treatment by thoroughly checking their oral condition and to reduce the time and economic burden on parents.

The project includes ▲oral examinations ▲fluoride varnish application ▲dental sealants. Oral health education and treatment services such as ▲deciduous tooth extraction ▲early caries filling treatment ▲scaling will also be provided.

An official from the Public Health Center said, “We plan to continue various oral prevention projects to help school-age children develop proper oral care habits and improve oral health risk behaviors.”
