Jeju Fire Station Conducts Training for Hazardous Chemical Spill Accident Response


[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Fire Station conducted a "Special Rescue Training for Hazardous Chemical Spill Accidents" for about 20 119 rescue team members belonging to Jeju Fire Station over three days on the 19th, 21st, and 26th at the Jeju Fire Education Center.


According to Jeju Fire Station on the 28th, this training was prepared to strengthen the response expertise of 119 rescue team members in case of hazardous chemical spill accidents in the province.


The training included on-site simulation exercises assuming hazardous chemical spill accidents, familiarization with response procedures and rescue team members' duties during hazardous chemical spills, and education on on-site response methods suitable for hazardous chemical handling facilities in the province.


A Jeju Fire Station official said, "This training focused on enhancing the on-site response capabilities of 119 rescue team members to prepare for hazardous chemical spill accidents in the province," adding, "We will strengthen the chemical accident response system through continuous training."
