[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as Kibo) announced on the 28th that it has signed a 'Business Agreement for Supporting Growth and Discovery of Tourism Venture Companies' with the Korea Tourism Organization.


This agreement was established to support the recovery of the tourism industry, which has been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, by building an organic cooperative system between Kibo and the Korea Tourism Organization and providing complex support such as technology evaluation guarantees to promote the innovative growth of excellent small and venture companies in the tourism sector.


According to the agreement, the Korea Tourism Organization will discover and recommend excellent small and venture tourism companies to Kibo, and Kibo will support the innovative growth of small and venture companies in the tourism sector through ▲technology evaluation ▲customized guarantee support ▲direct investment ▲technology transfer and transactions.


Going forward, Kibo and the Korea Tourism Organization plan to actively cooperate by exchanging information regularly to discover excellent small and venture tourism companies and foster global leading tourism companies, thereby promoting creative and innovative startups in the tourism sector and revitalizing tourism enterprises.


Lee Sun-hee, Head of Kibo's Seoul Western Regional Headquarters, said, "We hope that this agreement will serve as an opportunity for both organizations to actively promote customized support for small and venture tourism companies and play a significant role in the development of the tourism industry." She added, "Kibo operates various support systems for small businesses and will actively promote public-private collaborative projects to enhance the competitiveness of Korea's tourism industry and create jobs."
