[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Soo-yeon] KT and KT Studio Genie announced on the 28th that they have signed a business agreement with AMC Networks and AMC Studios for content partnership cooperation and joint production.


AMC Networks is a leading cable channel operator in the United States and has AMC Studios, which produced famous original dramas including "The Walking Dead," under its umbrella.


Through this business agreement, KT and AMC will exclusively provide AMC+ (AMC content subscription service), including the latest original series produced by AMC Studios, on Olleh TV's representative monthly subscription service "Prime Super Pack" for the first time in Korea.


Starting today, six dramas including will be released on the AMC+ menu of the Prime Super Pack on a trial basis. The official launch is planned for October, with new content updated weekly. is the latest installment of the globally popular American drama "The Walking Dead," which has formed a worldwide fandom. The drama "Interview with the Vampire," based on the novel by bestselling author Anne Rice, which will premiere in the United States in October, is also scheduled to be exclusively available on Olleh TV in Korea after its U.S. broadcast.


The Prime Super Pack is an Olleh TV monthly subscription service (11,000 KRW, VAT included) that offers over 90,000 pieces of content across all genres including movies, dramas, and animation. Hundreds of the latest AMC+ contents can also be enjoyed at a reasonable price through the Prime Super Pack.


Meanwhile, KT Studio Genie will strengthen its partnership with AMC Studios comprehensively by discussing content planning, production, and investment projects. KT Studio Genie, as the media content business control tower of the KT Group, planned, produced, and distributed original content such as the highly rated dramas "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" and "Gauss Electronics," which recorded the highest viewership in the second half of this year.


Kim Hoon-bae, Executive Vice President and Head of KT Media Platform Business Division, said, "This exclusive partnership with AMC in the U.S. clearly shows that DigiCo KT is changing the landscape of media content in Korea," adding, "Starting with the exclusive AMC+ service including popular series such as 'The Walking Dead: Origins' and 'Darkwind,' and joint production utilizing IP between the two companies, we expect to discover various business opportunities."


Kim Cheol-yeon, CEO of KT Studio Genie, stated, "Through the exchange of strong original intellectual property (IP) owned by AMC Studios and KT Studio Genie, we will create truly groundbreaking content that captivates Korea and the global market, including the United States, making genuine K-content."
