SK Chemicals Holds 'Comment Donation' Event to Prevent Dementia

SK Chemicals KakaoTalk Account Dementia Prevention Post:
Donate 10,000 KRW Per Person for Support Comments

SK Chemicals Holds 'Comment Donation' Event to Prevent Dementia SK Chemicals is conducting a comment donation event to raise awareness about the importance of dementia prevention. SK Chemicals employees are holding an internal promotional event to publicize the campaign.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] SK Chemicals announced on the 28th that it will conduct a 'Dementia Prevention Funding Project' for one week to raise awareness about the importance of dementia prevention.

This project is part of SK Chemicals' cognitive function improvement activities and was created to provide an easy and convenient opportunity for SK Chemicals, its affiliates' members, and customers to participate in social contribution.

By leaving supportive comments on the SK Chemicals KakaoTalk channel funding post, SK Chemicals will donate 10,000 KRW per commenter. To encourage participation, 500 participants will be selected by lottery to receive convenience store gifticons.

If the target amount of 5 million KRW is reached through this project, SK Chemicals plans to purchase the AI-based cognitive function improvement program 'Sound Mind' and donate it to outstanding institutions engaged in elderly dementia prevention projects.

Sound Mind is a cognitive and language training program developed by the social venture Idware, which uses proprietary voice recognition and AI technology to help prevent dementia or delay symptoms in high-risk groups such as the elderly and those with mild cognitive impairment.

Last month, SK Chemicals distributed Sound Mind through 62 elderly day and night care centers in Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province, and Cheongju City, Chungbuk Province, where SK Chemicals' business sites are located. This year, the company plans to expand to 74 cooperative elderly day and night care centers in Andong, Gyeongbuk, Ulsan, and other areas.

Kim Cheol-jin, Head of Management Support at SK Chemicals, said, “While conducting the dementia prevention campaign and enhancing social value through ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities is important, there was also a consensus that spreading social awareness about cognitive function improvement for dementia prevention is equally important.” He added, “I hope this opportunity to donate in a fun way through supportive comments will help raise awareness about dementia prevention.”
