[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] The police will summon cleaning and security workers who were sued by Yonsei University students for disrupting classes for questioning next month.

On the 27th, the Seoul Seodaemun Police Station announced that it will summon and investigate Kim Hyun-ok, head of the Yonsei University branch of the Seoul Public Service Division of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, who is accused of obstruction of business and violation of the Assembly and Demonstration Act, on the 12th of next month.

Since March, they have held rallies on the Yonsei University campus for about four months, demanding wage increases, expansion of on-campus shower facilities, and additional staffing.

In response, some Yonsei University students filed a complaint with the police in May, accusing them of obstructing business by disrupting their right to attend classes.

The students also filed a lawsuit seeking approximately 6.4 million won in damages, including tuition fees and psychiatric treatment costs, against the cleaning workers. The court date for the case has not yet been scheduled.
