Holding Next Year's Major Business Plan Report Meeting, Inspecting 563 Projects
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 27th that it has officially started to concretize the county administration and achieve its vision for the 8th term of the elected government by holding the 2023 Major Business Plan Reporting Meeting.
This reporting meeting will continue for four days from the 27th to the 30th, during which the feasibility, funding plans, and expected effects of a total of 563 projects, including 150 new projects and 100 pledged projects for next year, will be meticulously reviewed to enhance the effectiveness of the plans.
Key projects to be discussed during the meeting include ▲ installation of a lunar lander test facility for space exploration ▲ establishment of an integrated drone demonstration base in the South Coast area ▲ hosting the Goheung Ecological Art Biennale ▲ comprehensive maintenance of flood and wind disaster living zones in the Nokdong district ▲ creation of an eco-friendly smart aquaculture cluster ▲ attraction of a healing and experiential convergence-type livestock industry ▲ installation of a symbolic gateway monument for Goheung.
Notably, unlike previous years, this reporting meeting is held concurrently with the discovery report of urgent national treasury projects for 2024. This reflects Governor Gong Young-min’s strong will to actively discover large-scale projects that will drive regional change and development and to proactively respond to securing national funds.
The newly discovered national treasury projects include 41 items worth 382.2 billion KRW, such as ▲ development of Udo Mediterranean healing retreat ▲ creation of an agricultural startup complex for young farmers ▲ establishment of a drone parts convergence support center ▲ expansion of the Marianne-Margaret sharing training center. Additional new projects will be discovered and supplemented, and from early next year, activities to secure national funds will be intensively carried out by visiting central government ministries and Jeonnam Province.
Governor Gong Young-min stated, “Next year is an important period for the vigorous leap forward and development of Goheung, and the success of the 8th term of the elected government depends on the execution power of next year’s business plans.” He added, “Please review once again to ensure the plans are effective and work harder to discover key projects that will contribute to establishing the foundation for a population of 100,000 in Goheung in 10 years.”
Goheung-gun plans to comprehensively review problems and improvement measures identified during this reporting meeting and reflect modifications in next year’s business plans to establish a foundation for county administration that the residents can empathize with.
