[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced on the 27th that it held a 'Technology Difficulty Consultation Meeting' for export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in collaboration with KAIST at COEX in Samseong-dong.
The consultation meeting was attended by 36 SMEs from the fields of robotics, materials, chemistry, and bio, who diagnosed technical issues and sought advice through one-on-one consultations with KAIST professors.
Since 2017, KITA has been collaborating with domestic universities to support consulting projects for specialized technical consulting for SMEs and mid-sized companies struggling to secure research personnel. So far, it has supported technological innovation for over 280 companies.
At the event, KITA and KAIST also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to 'strengthen the global competitiveness of KITA member companies.' KITA Chairman Koo Ja-yeol said, "At a time when companies face fierce global technological competition, we will spare no effort to support Korean companies in securing world-class technological competitiveness based on cooperation with KAIST."
KAIST President Lee Kwang-hyung responded, "We will strive to achieve co-growth with companies based on excellent research capabilities and to promote entrepreneurial culture and technology commercialization."
Through the MOU signing, the two organizations plan to cooperate in providing technical difficulty consultations, research planning, technology transfer, and overseas market development for KITA member companies.
