The Tax Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Min Kyung-ho) sent prosecutors and investigators to Daemyung General Construction's headquarters and affiliates located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to carry out the search and seizure on the morning of the same day.

A prosecution official stated, "We are conducting a search and seizure of the headquarters and affiliate offices in relation to the tax evasion case involving Daemyung General Construction."

Earlier, the 4th Investigation Division of the Seoul Regional Tax Office reportedly detected signs of tax evasion during a tax audit of Daemyung General Construction, involving the transfer of company shares from the founder Ji Seung-dong to the second-generation owner Ji Woo-jong, CEO of Daemyung General Construction, and the presumed third-generation owner Ji Jeong-hyun.

Meanwhile, the Tax Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, which was abolished during the Moon Jae-in administration, was reinstated in the prosecution reorganization carried out in July after the appointment of Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon.
