Allegations of Forced Indecent Acts Using Authority at Work
Additional Investigation Conducted on the 15th Since Last Month's 29th
Assemblyman Park Denies Suspicion Saying "What Is Not True Is Not True"
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] The police have conducted an additional summons investigation of Park Wanju, an independent lawmaker who was expelled from the Democratic Party of Korea over allegations of sexual harassment against an aide. This comes about two weeks after the first summons investigation on the 29th of last month.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Women and Juvenile Crime Investigation Unit announced on the 27th that they summoned Representative Park as a suspect for questioning on the 15th.
Park is suspected of sexually harassing A, who worked as his aide at the end of last year. A reported the incident to the Democratic Party's Gender Reporting Center in April and filed a complaint against Park on May 16, accusing him of forcible molestation by abuse of authority, abuse of power, and defamation by spreading false information. The Democratic Party expelled Park from the party at a party meeting the following day.
When the allegations surfaced, Park posted on social media (SNS) denying them, stating, "No matter what sacrifices and pain there are, it is not true."
