[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] U.S. President Joe Biden on the 26th (local time) invited the Atlanta Braves, last year's Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series champions, to the White House and called it "one of the greatest turnarounds in baseball history."

According to the White House, President Biden said at the event that the Braves' victory "will forever be remembered as the King of October Comebacks."

The U.S. President has a tradition of inviting league champions from MLB, professional football (NFL), professional basketball (NBA), and the National Hockey League (NHL) to the White House. The Atlanta Braves, last year's champions, were not expected to make the postseason as of August last year, but they joined at the last minute with an unstoppable winning streak and ultimately won the championship.

President Biden introduced the Braves' championship journey, saying, "The start was rough with injuries. There were no days with a winning record," but "the team never gave up." He also emphasized the Braves' comeback victory as "a relentless, joyful sprint."

On this day, President Biden drew attention by comparing the Braves' championship journey to his own presidential victory, saying, "People left you out. I know what it means to be excluded from consideration." Biden himself had little chance as a candidate in the early Democratic primaries during the last presidential election.

Additionally, President Biden mentioned the Braves' legendary home run king Henry Hank Aaron, saying, "This team is defined by the courage of Aaron, the home run king and 25-time All-Star. Aaron broke many records but also broke racial discrimination." On this day, the Atlanta Braves presented President Biden with a jersey bearing the number 46, representing the 46th president.
