[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Galleria Department Store announced on the 27th that it will showcase the "Light! Life Exhibition Hall," which exhibits life-respecting non-fungible token (NFT) artworks in a metaverse space.

This exhibition is part of the Galleria life respect campaign. Since the 2nd, Galleria has been holding offline NFT exhibitions at Gwanggyo Branch and Daejeon Timeworld, and plans to expand customer experiences both directly and indirectly by implementing the exhibition online as well.

The exhibition hall is set up within Dunamu’s metaverse platform SecondBlock. The space is modeled after the actual Timeworld exhibition area and designed with a botanical garden concept where visitors can relax in nature.

At the exhibition hall, visitors can enjoy five digital artworks linked with Upbit NFT, each conveying the preciousness of life as a unique and irreplaceable value. Along with a shared theme, each piece carries messages about the dignity of life, empathy for the suffering of laboratory animals, the seriousness of the climate crisis, concerns about factory farming, and the meaning of companion animals. Galleria collaborated with the animal welfare magazine "OBOY!", actress Kim Hyojin, and artist Kim Hyejung to develop the artworks.

These artworks were issued through Upbit NFT Drops on the 2nd and 16th, and all five pieces sold out in about one minute, gaining significant popularity.

A Galleria representative said, “This metaverse exhibition will be a meaningful opportunity to appreciate NFT digital artworks and to reflect on the preciousness of life and living in coexistence even in an online space.”
