[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 26th that President Yoon Hyung-jung will engage in local marketing activities by meeting with airport authorities and travel industry officials in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.

On the same day, President Yoon met with Takashiro Isao, Chairman of Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd., and Yokota Nobuaki, President, at Tokyo Haneda Airport to discuss demand recovery through increased flights on the Gimpo-Haneda route and the establishment of a new Gimhae-Haneda route. On the 27th, to cooperate on resuming the Gimpo-Osaka route, he will meet with Beno?t Hulot, Co-CEO of Osaka Kansai Airport, to discuss the prompt resumption of the route and plans to increase flights from regional airports to Osaka. They also plan to discuss mutual cooperation measures such as marketing, product development, and promotion to revitalize Osaka-originating air routes with Peach Aviation, Japan’s leading low-cost carrier based at Kansai Airport.

President Yoon Hyung-jung of Korea Airports Corporation emphasized, “In line with Japan’s planned full relaxation of entry restrictions next month, we will make every effort to normalize international flights by directly communicating with key stakeholders such as Japanese airport authorities, airlines, and travel agencies to maximize inbound passengers through increased and new Korea-Japan routes.”
