Yeonggwang-gun's 'Bulgapsan Sangsa Flower Festival' Concludes Successfully... 400,000 Visitors Attended

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do, successfully concluded the 22nd Yeonggwang Bulgapsan Sangsa Flower Festival, a representative autumn flower festival of Korea, which was held from the 16th to the 25th over 10 days amid enthusiastic responses and positive reviews from tourists.

According to the county on the 26th, this festival, held for the first time in three years due to the spread of COVID-19, attracted 403,028 visitors over the 10 days, proving its tremendous popularity.

Including some uncounted visitors, the number is expected to approach 500,000.

In particular, on the third day, September 18, the number of tourists reached 74,520.

This year, starting with the opening ceremony, congratulatory performances by Park Jindo and Norazo, and the county residents' song festival on the first day, the festival featured representative programs such as Sangsa Flower Path Walk, Sangsa Flower Media Facade, Finding Love in Solar Salt, Sangsa Flower Moonlight Night Tour, Sangsa Flower College Song Festival, Sangsa Flower Changgeuk (traditional Korean opera), and Sangsa Flower Wedding, along with various performances, experiences, exhibitions, SNS photo printing services, and a local food hall, making the attractions, food, and entertainment even richer.

Kim Yongsik, chairman of the Yeonggwang Bulgapsan Sangsa Flower Festival Promotion Committee, said, “I am pleased that the Sangsa Flower Festival, held for the first time in three years overcoming the difficulties of COVID-19, was very successfully concluded to the extent that the hiatus seemed meaningless, and I sincerely thank everyone who worked tirelessly to prepare the festival.”

He added, “Next year, we will continue to make efforts to welcome tourists again with a better appearance by expanding festival facilities and introducing new programs.”
