October 5 and 8: Scheduled Pass Briefing Sessions
A loss adjuster is an insurance expert who, when an insurance accident occurs, verifies the fact of loss and evaluates the amount of loss and insurance benefits by applying insurance-related laws and insurance policy terms. Obtaining the certification can provide additional points in public recruitment by insurance companies, and it can be utilized in various ways such as employment at entrusted loss adjusting corporations or working as an independent loss adjuster in a private office.
The loss adjuster exam is a qualification test supervised by the Financial Supervisory Service and administered by the Korea Insurance Development Institute. Among the categories, the largest number of applicants apply for the Physical Loss Adjuster, with approximately 340 planned to be selected.
Among them, Epass Korea Co., Ltd., which operates the insurance qualification specialized academy Epass Sonsa, announced that it has opened a new course in October 2023 for examinees aiming to obtain the Physical Loss Adjuster certification.
The 2023 exam preparation first-stage loss adjuster course will start on October 12, and the second-stage course will begin on October 23. The second-stage package course, which used to start in November, will commence about two weeks earlier. This change is to prepare for the earlier scheduling of the second-stage exam (44th second-stage exam → held on August 1, 45th second-stage exam → held on July 31).
The 2023 regular courses are divided into a first-stage package to prepare for the first exam and a second-stage package to prepare for the second exam. The first-stage package consists of five steps: basic theory, problem solving, case law special lecture, final review, and practical mock exam. The previously single case law special lecture will be conducted twice to cover new case laws.
The second-stage package includes six steps: basic theory, problem solving, core theory, corrected mock exam, final review, and practical mock exam, providing a systematic and strategic educational process that allows thorough preparation from basic theory learning to answer writing methods.
Additionally, the first-stage practical mock exams are conducted online three times, offering a service to check final skills before the exam and compare scores with other candidates. The second-stage practical mock exam is conducted with the same timing as the actual exam, allowing examinees to self-assess their learning outcomes before the test.
The instructors leading the systematic curriculum at Epass Sonsa include instructors Yoon Sung-yeol and Lim Jeong-won, first-stage Insurance Contract Law instructor Kim Seok-ju, Insurance Business Law instructor Lee Min-cheol, second-stage Third Insurance instructor Choi Sang-eun, and Liability Insurance instructor Lim Kyung-ah. All instructors are active loss adjusters in various fields such as insurance companies and independent loss adjusters, providing additional practical information beyond lectures.
An official stated, “Since the interval between the first and second exams has somewhat shortened, examinees preparing to pass both exams simultaneously need to focus on intensive study through a curriculum suitable for the exam,” and added, “We hope this course will be very helpful.”
Epass Sonsa offers a special discount system to reduce the financial burden on examinees. The 365 Discount System provides up to 50% discount benefits for university students, persons with disabilities, national veterans, and basic livelihood security recipients.
Meanwhile, Epass Sonsa will hold a 2023 pass strategy briefing session over two days on October 5 (Wednesday) and October 8 (Saturday). The briefing will cover exam preparation methods for obtaining the loss adjuster certification, the latest exam trends, and a Q&A session with instructors. Attendees will also receive tuition discounts and gifts. Detailed information can be found on the official website of the insurance specialized academy Epass Sonsa.
