[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Medical professionals from West Java Province, Indonesia, will visit Ulsan City Hall on the 26th to discuss medical exchange plans.
Ulsan City announced that at 11 a.m. on the same day, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs Ahn Hyo-dae will receive and have a conversation with medical professionals from West Java Province, Indonesia, who are currently undergoing invited training at Ulsan University, in the Deputy Mayor's Office for Economic Affairs.
The visiting medical professionals are two individuals: Utari Nur Alifa (Emergency Medicine) and Laudhatul Janna (Dentistry).
Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs Ahn Hyo-dae said, "I hope that this training will serve as an opportunity for Ulsan City and West Java Province to continue more diverse and active exchanges, and that it will help widely promote Ulsan in West Java Province."
Since 2014, Ulsan City has been inviting medical personnel from developing countries annually through Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects and conducting training programs at Ulsan University Hospital.
So far, medical personnel have been invited from countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Mongolia. This year, two medical professionals from West Java Province, Indonesia, have been training in Ulsan for two months starting in September.
Ulsan City and West Java Province have maintained continuous exchanges, including dispatching Ulsan university student volunteer groups in 2015, sending delegations from the Ulsan General Trade Complex, and the visit of the West Java Governor to Ulsan in 2018. They are currently promoting the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) for sister city cooperation in the second half of this year.
Indonesia, with an area of 1.9 million km²?nine times the size of the Korean Peninsula?and a population of 270 million, is the largest oil and gas producer in Southeast Asia and a resource-rich country with abundant mineral resources such as coal, tin, and nickel.
