[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Hyundai Department Store announced on the 26th that it will hold 'Ivojeon of Tanzania' for the first time in Asia at the Glass House on the 7th floor of the Mokdong branch until the 4th of next month.
This exhibition expresses the hope that the gorilla Ivo can return to nature where he can enjoy freedom. It was led by Didier Guillaume, an artist and head of the Swiss premium cosmetic brand Valmont Group. The gorilla Ivo is exhibited through colorful silk screens as well as recycled corrugated cardboard pieces.
In this exhibition, a video was produced and presented showing the journey of Didier and his youngest daughter Valentine heading to Uganda to meet Ivo living in the natural world. The video, containing a message of hope, is expected to enhance the immersion of the Tanzania Ivo art exhibition.
Along with the exhibition, charity activities are also introduced. Goods such as posters, mugs, and puzzles themed on Ivo are offered, and a portion of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation. Additionally, a separate space is prepared where children can directly draw Ivo in various colors.
A Hyundai Department Store official said, “We prepared this exhibition for the first time in Asia to provide customers with a new experience different from before,” and added, “We plan to continuously present various events and promotions in the future.”
