"Kunawara Kasho's Textbook" Australian Wine Brand 'Winds Kunawara Estate' Officially Launched in Korea

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Australian wine brand ‘Wynns Coonawarra Estate’ announced on the 26th that it will be officially launched in Korea.

Wynns Coonawarra Estate (hereinafter Wynns) was newly started in 1951 when Australian wine retailer Samuel Wynn and his son David Wynn acquired a winery in the Coonawarra region of Australia, and has continued its reputation as a representative winery of Australia to this day. Wynns owns the oldest vineyard in the Coonawarra region of Australia, established in 1891 by Scotsman John Riddoch. The Coonawarra region is recognized as one of the world’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon producing areas due to its terra rossa soil, which offers excellent drainage and rich nutrients ideal for plant cultivation, and its mild maturation season.

Wynns’ import into Korea is handled by wine importer Enoteca Korea. The lineup for the domestic market launch includes four 'Coonawarra Range' wines: ▲Coonawarra Chardonnay ▲Coonawarra Riesling ▲Coonawarra Shiraz ▲The Gables. Wynns’ Coonawarra Range wines are characterized by their slow maturation over a long period in a cool climate, resulting in an excellent balance of fruit flavor, sweetness, and acidity.

Meanwhile, to commemorate the brand’s domestic launch, Wynns’ winemaker Sarah Pidgeon is visiting Korea for an event held on the same day. The event includes a media session introducing the brand and pairing Wynns’ wines with food, followed by a gala dinner. Sarah Pidgeon said, “I am very pleased that Wynns Coonawarra Estate is officially launching in Korea,” and added, “Based on decades of know-how, we expect that the wines embodying the unique characteristics of the Coonawarra region and Wynns’ own values will bring new vitality to Korean wine enthusiasts.”
