Hanwha Resort Enhances Kids Content for Family Customers

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, which operates Hanwha Resort, announced on the 26th that it will introduce various kids-themed facilities to provide rest and enjoyment for families with children.

According to an analysis of guests in the first half of 2022 conducted by Hanwha Resort, 70% of all visitors were families accompanied by children. This appears to be the result of an increase in outdoor activities following the lifting of social distancing measures, leading to a rise in 'Famjamjok'?people seeking fun while spending time with their families. Hanwha Resort is strengthening themed facilities focused on kids, including kids' rooms, indoor activities, and educational content, to cater to these Famjamjok.

‘Promomkinder,’ a children's English membership club that opened in July at Hanwha Resort Yongin Bezanson, has attracted attention from customers with children, with sales more than doubling compared to its opening. Thanks to native-speaking teachers who take care of a small number of children, it guarantees natural foreign language practice and parents’ relaxation.

‘Jjaegak Island,’ newly opened this month at Yongin Bezanson, is a creative play space where children can directly experience childcare services. There are four programs prepared: ‘Urban Farmer,’ where children explore nature by walking on warm soil; ‘Drawing Class,’ where the world becomes a canvas and the child's hand becomes a brush; and ‘Five Senses Class,’ which helps develop creativity.

Geoje Belvedere is renowned as a paradise for children by establishing the largest kids-themed facilities in the Gyeongnam region. This includes the ‘Bounce Trampoline Park,’ consisting of zip lines and climbing, the ‘Pororo Kids Cafe’ for infants and toddlers, ‘Brick Live,’ where children can touch and feel bricks directly, and the drawing cafe ‘My Papa Bear.’ In particular, sales at Geoje Belvedere’s Bounce Trampoline Park increased by 154% compared to the previous year.

Additionally, Hanwha Hotels & Resorts’ kids' rooms recorded a 100% weekend occupancy rate even during the COVID-19 period. The Pororo-themed rooms at Geoje Belvedere, Yongin Bezanson, Seorak Sorano, Daecheon Pharos, Gyeongju, and the kids' rooms in Jeju are so popular among family customers that weekend reservations are difficult to secure.

A marketing official from Hanwha Hotels & Resorts said, “As demand for family guests with children and kids’ facilities increases, sales seem to have risen accordingly. We plan to continue reorganizing programs and facilities that the whole family can enjoy in line with changing leisure industry trends.”
