[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] President Yoon Suk-yeol raised his voice on the 26th regarding the controversy over his use of profanity during his visit to the United States, saying, "False reports damage alliances and put the people at risk."

On the morning of the same day, when reporters asked President Yoon, who was on his way to the Yongsan Presidential Office, about his stance on the profanity controversy during this visit, he responded accordingly.

Prior to this, President Yoon emphasized, "Except for two or three superpowers worldwide, no country can protect the lives and safety of its citizens solely with its own capabilities. Alliances are essential."

He also stressed, "I believe the rest of the facts must be clearly revealed."

On the 21st (local time), a scene was captured on camera where President Yoon, leaving the 7th replenishment conference of the Global Fund hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden, seemed to say to Foreign Minister Park Jin, "What if those XX in the National Assembly don't approve it? Biden will be embarrassed."

Regarding this, Kim Eun-hye, the presidential office's chief spokesperson, explained in a briefing, "If (the Korean) National Assembly does not approve and lets it fail," clarifying that the remark referred to our National Assembly (the opposition party), not the U.S. Congress, and that President Yoon was not mentioning President Biden but saying "if it fails."

Despite the presidential office's explanation, criticism is intensifying not only from the opposition but also from some within the ruling party.
