Hankook Tire Launches 'ION' Exclusive for Electric Vehicles with Promotional Event

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) announced on the 26th that it will hold a domestic launch promotion for the electric vehicle-exclusive tire brand ‘iON’ at offline stores nationwide such as T Station and The Tire Shop, as well as on the online service platform TStation.com, until November 30.

iON is a premium brand completed with Hankook Tire’s exclusive electric vehicle specialized technology. After first being introduced to the European market in May, it was recently officially launched domestically. It is equipped on sedan and sport utility vehicle (SUV) electric vehicle models and consists of six products including all-season, winter, and summer tires, establishing the world’s first full lineup exclusively for electric vehicles.

The promotion applies to four products: the all-season products ▲iON Evo AS ▲iON Evo AS SUV, and the winter products ▲iON Winter ▲iON Winter SUV.

First, customers who purchase four or more tires will receive a 50,000 KRW worth ‘Chaebi’ electric vehicle charging credit. After purchasing tires, customers can access the Chaebi app, an electric vehicle charging service brand, and enter the coupon number sent to their mobile device to receive the credit. The issued credit can be used at over 3,000 Chaebi chargers nationwide and at charging stations that have roaming agreements with the Chaebi membership. The credit usage period is one year from the registration date.

Along with the purchase event, an iON real-use review event is also being held. Customers who post a certification of their vehicle equipped with iON and a real-use review on Naver Cafe or Blog by December 16 and verify it will receive an electric air pump that easily measures tire air pressure and inflates tires. Posts must be set to public to be eligible for participation.
