[Asia Economy Reporter Han Yeju] Samsung Electronics announced on the 26th that it held the 'Tech Forum 2022: Discover eXperience' in San Francisco and Boston, USA, to secure outstanding talent in the next-generation IT technology field.
The Tech Forum is an annual event operated by Samsung Electronics' DX (Device eXperience) division since 2017 to communicate with excellent local developers in the US, but it was temporarily suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.
This year, the Tech Forum resumed after three years, inviting about 200 PhD candidates from major North American universities such as MIT, Stanford, Caltech, and UC Berkeley over two days.
Alongside talents from various research fields including AI (Artificial Intelligence), robotics, big data, and display, Samsung Electronics was represented by executives including President Seunghyun Jun, Head of Samsung Research, Vice President Wonil Noh, Head of Samsung Research America, and Vice President Gihong Na, Head of HR.
President Seunghyun Jun said, "Millions of people worldwide use Samsung Electronics' devices, and our products are integrated into their lives. However, amid new eras and challenges, we must become 'Thought Leaders' and participate in the global discourse to use technology for better value and apply it appropriately." He emphasized, "Working at Samsung Electronics means leading better lives through technology and becoming leaders in thought and culture. Please join us on the journey to create the future."
In a separate tech session, presentations, Q&A, and discussions were held by Samsung Electronics executives on four fields: AI, robotics, big data, and display. Finally, Vice President Gihong Na held a career vision session presenting various experiences for growth, organizational culture, and welfare that enable immersion in research and development.
