[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Gmarket announced on the 26th that it will provide free storage fees at logistics centers for new sellers offering the ‘Smile Delivery’ service, which includes next-day delivery, holiday delivery, and dawn delivery.
Gmarket is introducing the Smile Delivery service based on the country’s largest open-market type ‘fulfillment platform’ that links delivery agency, consignment, and e-commerce order processing through the Dongtan logistics center. Sellers pay some costs such as storage fees when storing products at the logistics center after subscribing to the service, while Gmarket provides the overall delivery service.
To further activate sales, Gmarket has prepared a promotion that exempts storage fees for three months for new sellers subscribing to the Smile Delivery service.
The free storage fee benefit applies to sellers who newly subscribe to Gmarket and Auction Smile Delivery services by December 25, and is valid for three months from the month of subscription. If the product is received within the subscription month, an additional free storage benefit of up to 30 days is applied, allowing the service to be used for up to four months without storage fees.
Lee Choongheon, head of Gmarket Smile Delivery division, said, “Since customers’ ability to quickly receive desired items anytime influences their purchase decisions, fast delivery services greatly help sellers increase their sales,” adding, “We are conducting this event so that both customers and sellers can actively use this win-win delivery service.”
