[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte Hotel Jeju announced on the 26th that it has opened an outdoor garden and tennis courts within the hotel after more than a year of preparation.
The outdoor garden of Lotte Hotel Jeju is located in the space where the "Volcano Fountain Show" used to take place. The Volcano Fountain Show, a popular attraction in the Jungmun Tourist Complex of Jeju Island, was discontinued at the end of 2017 to reduce fossil fuel and carbon emissions and to practice ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) for sustainable travel.
Lotte Hotel Jeju created an outdoor garden of 3,630㎡ (approximately 1,100 pyeong) that looks like a forest transplanted as is. The garden is expected to be used as a space where visitors can enjoy different charms depending on the season.
At the entrance of the outdoor garden, a large canopy about 20 meters wide was installed. Under the canopy that blocks sunlight and wind, guests can relax while enjoying the landscaping or hold large-scale dining parties.
The curved walking path includes water features, resting spaces harmonized with the forest, and areas where small events such as yoga classes or concerts can be held.
On the 8th floor outdoor area of Lotte Hotel Jeju’s fitness club, tennis courts popular among the 20s and 30s generation have been opened. The courts consist of two international standard pink hard courts, where players can enjoy tennis while taking in the exotic atmosphere surrounded by the Jeju sea and stone walls beyond the courts.
Each court can be used by up to four people, and the usage fee for two hours is 100,000 KRW for hotel guests and fitness members, and 200,000 KRW for general users. Rackets and balls are available for free rental when using the tennis courts.
To commemorate the opening of the tennis courts, Lotte Hotel is selling the "El Court" package, which includes tennis court usage benefits, until November 30. The package consists of one night’s stay, up to two hours of tennis court use (for four people), and fitness club access for two people, with prices starting from 270,000 KRW.
A representative of Lotte Hotel Jeju said, “Following the renewal opening of the outdoor pool Haeon and The Lounge & Bar in May, we have opened the outdoor garden and tennis courts so that guests can have more diverse experiences at the hotel,” adding, “We hope guests fully enjoy restful moments in nature and energetic leisure activities.”
