Park Bo-gyun, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, attended the opening ceremony of '2022 Welcome Daehangno' and said, "I am thrilled to participate in this festival," making this request.


The opening ceremony of 2022 Welcome Daehangno, held on the 24th in Daehangno, Seoul, began with actress Park So-dam as the host. Actors Lee Soon-jae, Park Jeong-ja, Oh Young-soo, and choreographer Monica attended the event to mark the start of the festival.


From 1 PM to 9 PM that day, the opening event 'Welcome Roadshow' was held on a 300-meter car-free road from Ewha Intersection to Hyehwa Station Exit 1, featuring street parades and performances by 32 teams from various fields.

Following this, the second part of the opening ceremony stage event featured a congratulatory performance by the modern dance company ‘Rikey Dance’, actor Oh Young-soo, the promotional ambassador for ‘2022 Korean Performing Arts Tourism’, and Monica YB, the promotional ambassador for this festival.


During the 2022 Welcome Daehangno festival period, over 150 performances will be held in theaters, streets, and online throughout the Daehangno area.


At the Seokyeong University Performing Arts Center Halls 1 and 2, the 'Welcome Theater' will showcase a total of 10 works, including musicals such as 'Legendary Little Basketball Team' and 'Mia Familia'.


Additionally, online, a total of 10 performance videos will be sequentially broadcast every Wednesday at 8 PM through 'Welcome K-Stage'. On weekends, the permanent performances 'Welcome Fringe' will be held at Marronnier Park and Pine Tree Road.


Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also conducted promotional activities wishing for the hosting of the '2023 Asian Football Confederation Asian Cup' through banners and electronic billboards at the opening ceremony.
