[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Juri] The British royal family has unveiled for the first time a memorial plaque marking the final resting place of the late Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.

According to BBC and other sources on the 24th (local time), the memorial plaque made of black marble was placed on the floor of the 'King George VI Memorial Chapel,' where the Queen is buried.

Originally, the spot where the plaque was placed had a plaque dedicated to the Queen's father, King George VI, and her mother, but it has now been replaced with a plaque for the Queen.

The plaque is engraved with the names and years of life of the Queen, her parents, and her husband, Prince Philip, who passed away in April last year. At the center is a metal star emblem symbolizing the 'Garter,' the highest honor among all British knighthoods.

The Order of the Garter is a chivalric order founded in the 14th century by Edward III, originating from King Arthur's 'Knights of the Round Table,' and is composed of the monarch, former monarchs, former prime ministers, and other top-ranking officials in the UK.

The general public will be able to see the memorial plaque starting from the 29th, when the chapel, temporarily closed for the Queen's funeral, reopens.

Admission to the chapel is paid, and on Sundays, it is open only to worshippers attending services.
