Decrease of 3,561 Compared to the Previous Day, 8,951 Fewer Than a Week Ago

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] As the resurgence of COVID-19 enters a declining trend, the number of new confirmed cases has remained in the 20,000 range for three consecutive days.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 25th at midnight that there were 25,792 new COVID-19 cases. This is a decrease of 3,561 from the previous day (29,353 cases). The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 24,621,280.
Based on Sunday announcements, this is the lowest number in 11 weeks since July 10 (20,383 cases).
Among the new confirmed cases, 248 were imported cases, down 58 from the previous day (306 cases). Domestic community transmission cases numbered 25,544.
This is 8,951 fewer than a week ago on the 18th (34,743 cases) and 2,403 fewer than two weeks ago on the 11th (28,195 cases).
The average daily number of new confirmed cases over the past week since the 19th is 32,259. The daily counts were 19,389 → 47,897 → 41,269 → 33,005 → 29,108 → 29,353 → 25,972.
The number of confirmed cases by region (including imported cases) is as follows: Gyeonggi 788, Seoul 4,888, Incheon 1,713, Gyeongbuk 1,573, Gyeongnam 1,535, Daegu 1,257, Busan 1,156, Chungnam 1,054, Jeonbuk 932, Chungbuk 906, Jeonnam 747, Daejeon 723, Gangwon 708, Gwangju 640, Ulsan 451, Sejong 195, Jeju 194, Quarantine 32.
As of midnight, the number of critically ill patients is 416, down 2 from the previous day (418). The number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 73, an increase of 10 from the previous day. Among the new deaths, 50 (68.5%) were aged 80 and above, 17 were in their 70s, and 6 were in their 60s. The cumulative death toll is 28,213, with a cumulative fatality rate of 0.11%.
As of 5 p.m. the previous day, the bed occupancy rates were 22.5% for critical care beds, 27.6% for semi-critical care beds, and 15.0% for moderate care beds. As of midnight, the number of confirmed cases under home treatment was 200,800, an increase of 1,570 from the previous day (199,230).
