Seocho-gu Hosts '2022 Seocho Pet Dog Video Contest' on the Theme of 'Happy Daily Life with Pets'... Up to 3 Entries per Person Accepted Until October 11, Open to All Pet Dog Owners... Total of 39 Winning Works Selected
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] As we enter the era of 15 million companion animals, Seocho-gu offers unforgettable memories to pet families.
Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced that it will hold the ‘2022 Seocho Companion Dog Video Contest’ to create a ‘happy daily life with companion dogs.’
The ‘Seocho Companion Dog Video Contest,’ held for the first time this year, is open to anyone who owns a dog. Applicants can submit high-definition videos of about 30 seconds capturing the happy daily life of their companion family filled with emotion and fun by October 11. Up to three entries per person are allowed.
The submitted videos will be published on Seocho-gu’s official YouTube channel, and the winners will be selected through quantitative evaluations such as the number of ‘likes,’ views, and comments in the online public voting, as well as qualitative internal reviews.
Winners will receive prizes and certificates as follows: ▲Grand Prize (1 person) 1,000,000 KRW ▲Excellence Award (3 people) 500,000 KRW each ▲Merit Award (5 people) 300,000 KRW each ▲Encouragement Award (10 people) 100,000 KRW each. Additionally, 20 special awards for companion families will receive pet supplies.
Winners will be contacted individually, and the awards ceremony will be held at the ‘2022 Seocho Pet Family Festival’ on October 29.
The district expects that the videos from this contest will provide an opportunity for various companion families and residents to share small daily happiness and build mutual empathy.
The winning works will also be used for promoting the district’s companion animal policies and educational videos.
Companion families wishing to participate can refer to the announcements and notices on the Seocho-gu Office website and submit the application form and video via email to the Animal Welfare Team of the Job and Economy Division at the district office.
So far, the district has been promoting various companion animal projects for a ‘happy Seocho where people and animals coexist’ since opening the Seocho Animal Love Center in 2018.
Representative projects include ▲support for funeral expenses for companion animals killed by road accidents ▲psychological counseling ‘Seoripul Rainbow Group’ to help overcome the loss of companion animals ▲‘Companion Dog Culture Class’ making dog bowls and bath products ▲‘Companion Dog Care Shelter’ to reduce the burden of dog care for owners during holidays and long weekends.
Seocho Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, “I hope this contest will help share the happy daily lives of companion families and improve awareness of companion culture,” adding, “We will continue to strive to make Seocho an animal-friendly city where both people and animals are happy.”
