High Sales Growth Rate for Knitwear and Cardigans
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Recently, as the temperature difference between day and night has increased and the weather has become cooler, demand for autumn fashion has significantly risen.
According to Gmarket and Auction, sales of autumn fashion accessories surged up to 9 times from the 1st to the 21st of this month. By product, the increase rates were as follows: knitwear (822%), cardigans (198%), long-sleeve T-shirts (145%), sweatshirts and hoodies (356%), jackets (32%), and trench coats (86%).
It was found that men mainly purchased outerwear, while women bought a lot of innerwear. According to men's clothing sales data, mustang and leather jackets (219%), denim jackets (262%), and blouson and flight jumpers (626%) showed high growth rates. For women, innerwear such as lace and frill blouses (146%), knit dresses (72%), knit T-shirts (390%), and loose-fit shirts (57%) sold well.
A Gmarket representative said, “With the chilly weather in the mornings and evenings, sales of autumn fashion items such as jackets and knits have surged,” adding, “Based on data analyzing consumer trends, we are offering various promotions and special-priced products tailored to consumer demand, so we hope for much interest.”
