[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) will hold ‘Seongdong Travel Radio with Super Junior’s Kim Heechul, the space superstar’ from 7 p.m. on the 24th.


The event will take place at the outdoor stage of Seongsu-dong Understand Avenue (63 Wangsimni-ro, Seongdong-gu) and is open for anyone to watch on-site. Additionally, it will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of Seongdong-gu Office, allowing online viewers to enjoy it together.


‘Seongdong Travel Radio’ is a program operated by Seongdong-gu after being selected for the ‘Village Travel in Seoul’ contest promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to discover hidden travel content in neighborhoods and support the continuous development of village travel products.


Through this event, the district aims to widely promote Seongdong’s travel resources, and especially with Super Junior’s Kim Heechul appearing, it is expected to draw enthusiastic responses from the residents enjoying the event.


The program will feature various segments such as ‘Recommend Seongdong,’ introducing Seongdong’s travel attractions and restaurants, stories related to Seongdong travel, real-time online and offline participation quizzes like guessing song titles and initial consonant quizzes about travel destinations, promising to create another memorable experience on a deepening autumn night.


Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, “I am pleased to have the opportunity to directly introduce Seongdong-gu’s tourism resources through this program,” adding, “We will continue to provide new travel content and implement various policies to offer unique sights and enjoyment to tourists visiting Seongdong-gu.”

Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 23rd that it will hold the ‘2022 Kkamangdol Festival’ in celebration of September as Reading Month.


The ‘Kkamangdol Festival’ was prepared to promote the library through reading culture events and provide opportunities for healing and communication to residents tired from daily life. It will be held for three days from September 22 to 24 at ‘Kkamangdol Library’ (129 Seodal-ro).


As a pre-event, the festival opening ceremony was held at the entrance of Kkamangdol Library on the afternoon of the 22nd, marking the start of the festival. On the same day, a lecture by writer Eun Hee-kyung was conducted, followed by a lecture by writer Jung Yoo-jung on the 23rd under the theme ‘Complete Happiness.’


On the 24th, the festival will continue with ▲a meeting with writer Lee Su-ji ▲a signing event with illustrator Kim Ran, and a poetry concert featuring original songs created from reading poems to add excitement to the festival.


Following this, there will be four experience booths including drone experiences for families and the Challenge! Quiz King, along with displays of lifestyle accessories and folk paintings.


Various events to enhance the festival’s fun include ▲caricatures ▲book picnic zone ▲Kkamangdol relay tour ▲Kkamangdol dress code IS black, with small prizes given on a first-come, first-served basis depending on the event.


In this year’s Kkamangdol Festival, related organizations such as Dongjak-gu Childcare Support Center Mom’s Heart Cafe and Kkamangdol Daycare will also participate, making the festival even more diverse.

Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “As we enter September, the threshold of autumn and the season of reading, I hope the whole family participates together to create happy memories,” adding, “We will actively support a healthy reading culture to make the atmosphere of a book-reading city even more vibrant.”
