Changwon, Gimhae, and Jinju Small Giant R&D Special Zones Jointly Host the '1st Startup Innovation IR Day'

Joint Promotion of Investment Attraction for Startup Companies in Gyeongnam Small Giant R&D Special Zone

Changwon, Gimhae, and Jinju Small Giant R&D Special Zones Jointly Host the '1st Startup Innovation IR Day' Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam jointly held the "1st Startup Innovation IR Day" with Gimhae City and Jinju City.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 22nd that it jointly held the ‘1st Startup Innovation IR Day’ with Gimhae City, Jinju City, and the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute, Inje University, and Gyeongsang National University, which operate the Small Giant Research and Development Special Zone Project, to attract investment for startup companies and activate networking among Small Giant Special Zones.


At this event, a total of 12 promising startup companies participated, with 4 companies recommended from each special zone for having excellent technology startup items. Two companies that received outstanding evaluations from each special zone are scheduled to participate in the ‘2nd Small Giant Special Zone Innovation Growth IR Competition’ held for companies in research and development special zones nationwide.


The presentations were divided into a startup session (less than 3 years) and a unicorn session (3 to less than 7 years) to reflect the characteristics of the company growth stages.


Various regional specialized organizations (▲Busan Regional University Union Technology Holdings ▲Ulsan Creative Economy Innovation Center ▲BNK Venture Investment ▲Reventures ▲IBR ▲Startup Partners ▲Patent Law Firm Support ▲iPartners ▲Dream Ventures) were invited to facilitate direct investment connections.


From the Changwon Small Giant Special Zone, four companies selected from the ‘KERITOR Short Demoday’ participated: ▲Edenlux ▲Eflow ▲Twinwiz ▲DSEV.


Ryu Hyo-jong, Director of the Smart Innovation Industry Bureau, said, “We will continue various efforts to revitalize the investment ecosystem, such as creating funds to support the growth of local startup companies.”


KERI’s Kim Jong-wook, Head of the Strategic Policy Headquarters, stated, “Since three Small Giant Research and Development Special Zones have been designated in Gyeongsangnam-do, we will actively support the establishment of various linkage networks among key regional technology institutions to foster startup companies.”
