POSCO Chemical Launches Open Recruitment for New College Graduates as 'Global Convergence Talent'

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] POSCO Chemical is recruiting ‘convergence-type engineers’ who will play an active role in the global battery materials market.

On the 22nd, POSCO Chemical announced that it will conduct a ‘Global Convergence Talent (New College Graduate) Recruitment’ process to select humanities and social science majors as engineers.

Convergence-type talents refer to individuals who can create new value by integrating knowledge from humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering. As POSCO Chemical actively expands its overseas business in the battery materials sector, it has begun securing personnel with advantages in understanding the culture and geopolitics of the countries it enters.

By hiring talents who possess balanced language skills along with humanities, social sciences, and engineering capabilities, POSCO Chemical plans to nurture them into professionals with expertise in various fields such as technology, strategy, and marketing. Employees whose job competencies are verified will be given priority for overseas assignments.

The application period for this recruitment process is until October 11. The procedure consists of document screening, PAT (personality and aptitude test), and first and second interviews. Candidates must be humanities or social science majors with excellent language skills in English, French, or other languages. Applications can be submitted through the POSCO Group recruitment website.

The final successful candidates will complete specialized training related to secondary batteries, including battery principles, manufacturing processes, and the latest research trends, to enhance their technical expertise. After undergoing customized field training, they will be assigned to the field.

POSCO Chemical is continuing large-scale recruitment, including occasional experienced hires and new college graduate recruitment, through ongoing overseas business expansion such as the establishment of a joint cathode material plant in Canada with GM, the construction of a cathode material plant in Pohang, various facility investments, and the establishment of strategic partnerships and order expansions with new customers in North America and Europe.

Additionally, POSCO Chemical is making every effort to secure outstanding talent to lead the global battery materials market by operating the ‘e-Battery Track,’ a recruitment-linked professional degree program in collaboration with prestigious universities in the secondary battery field such as POSTECH, UNIST, DGIST, Hanyang University, and Chonnam National University.
