Exclusive Business Agreement Signed with New York Research Firm 'Valueline'
Enhancing U.S. Stock Investment Information Services and Promoting a Differentiated Platform
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Jung Young-chae, CEO of NH Investment & Securities, has personally taken steps to strengthen its U.S. stock brokerage services.
NH Investment & Securities announced on the 20th that CEO Jung signed an exclusive business agreement with Value Line, a local investment research firm in New York, USA.
Through this agreement, the company plans to explore opportunities to gradually expand the scope of services during this business trip, including IPOs, unlisted stocks, and real estate investment brokerage in the U.S., to build a differentiated platform service. The strategy is to discover fintech companies providing differentiated services such as Pre-IPO, real estate, private equity/ESG, and fractional stock trading in the U.S., and customize and introduce these services to suit domestic investors’ preferences and relevant regulations.
The introduction of Value Line’s research service is the first case in the global investment platform expansion strategy, aimed at providing more specialized and localized research services to domestic investors.
NH Investment & Securities decided to introduce Value Line’s specialized research service for the first time in Korea after continuously discovering numerous local specialized research firms. Value Line’s research service is known to be subscribed to by famous value investors such as Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, as well as major investment institutions in the U.S.
Founded in 1931 in the U.S., Value Line is a 90-year-old investment research firm that provides specialized services such as analysis information on S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 companies, stock market and economic analysis reports, and model portfolio recommendations. Unlike Korea, the U.S. has many independent research companies, and Value Line is a representative company listed on Nasdaq (market capitalization about 870 billion KRW) with a business model of providing paid research information. For domestic investors, NH Investment & Securities plans to provide not only the original Value Line investment information (in English) but also some translated and edited versions of reports tailored to retail customers’ levels.
The key to this exclusive partnership was the role of NH Investment & Securities’ New York local corporation. In line with CEO Jung Young-chae’s philosophy of ‘investment platform development,’ the New York local corporation has long established a foundation for overseas stock investment. Unlike other securities firms, it directly brokers U.S. stocks through a U.S. local broker license and has introduced the industry’s first 4-hour extended aftermarket service and operates a New York night desk to provide real-time information.
Additionally, at the headquarters level, NH Investment & Securities continues to strengthen service competitiveness through differentiated overseas stock margin services and real-time opening of 20-level quotes for U.S. stocks, so synergy between the headquarters and the local corporation is also expected.
