[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] The Justice Party called the Sindang Station stalking murder case "a gender violence incident and an industrial accident," demanding joint countermeasures from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the Ministry of Justice.

On the 21st, the Justice Party held a party meeting at the National Assembly and raised their voices regarding the Sindang Station incident. Floor leader Lee Eun-joo stated, "I feel a heavy responsibility for the despairing appeals of citizens toward our society, where nothing has changed since the Gangnam Station incident."

She said, "The Sindang Station incident once again exposed the gender inequality in our society in a stark manner," adding, "Under a culture and complacent legal system that dismiss gender violence as mere individual deviance, women and minorities face a cruel reality where they are constantly at risk of death."

She further pointed out, "This incident is also clearly an industrial accident," emphasizing, "Since the Guui Station disaster, working in pairs has become the minimum safety requirement. This principle should have been properly applied in both maintenance and patrol duties."

Floor leader Lee stressed, "Post-event measures hastily announced only when incidents occur can no longer prevent tragedies," and promised, "The Justice Party pledges not only to abolish the stalking crime as a complaint-based offense but also to strengthen the Stalking Punishment Act for victim protection and personal safety, as well as to establish fundamental industrial safety measures including workplace harassment and health management."

Senior Deputy Floor Leader Jang Hye-young also called it a "clear gender violence," stating, "The National Assembly has been hasty in preparing countermeasures whenever gender-based crimes occur. However, while failing to properly establish victim protection safety nets and crime prevention measures, incidents such as the Inha University sexual assault death case, the second Nth Room case, and the Sindang Station murder have occurred."

She criticized, "Laws and systems alone are insufficient. As long as politics that deny discrimination and violence against women continue, we cannot prevent the victimization of others."
