Three-Day Event from 23rd to 25th Featuring Busan Craft Beer Evaluation, Showcase, and Pop-up Store
Selected as a Promising Small Business Sector... Craft Beer Expected to Strengthen Company Capabilities and Lay Foundation for Industrialization
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City will hold the ‘2024 Busan Craft Beer Masters Challenge’ for three days from the 23rd to the 25th at the Jagalchi Market waterfront.
Last year, the craft beer tasting evaluation was conducted non-face-to-face to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but this year’s event will be held as a citizen participation festival at the Jagalchi Market waterfront with the Jagalchi night sea as the backdrop.
Started as part of the support project for promising small business sectors, the ‘Busan Craft Beer Masters Challenge’ has been held since 2018 to strengthen the capabilities of craft beer companies and expand sales channels for small business owners in related industries through craft beer competitions.
This year, the event is jointly hosted by Busan Jung-gu Office, the Economic Promotion Agency, and the Busan Fishing Village Specialization Support Center. Nine representative craft beer companies from Busan will participate, and the Jagalchi Merchants Association and the Fishing Village Specialization Support Center will operate SEA food, monkfish steamed meal kits, and small business owners’ food trucks to provide a variety of food and attractions.
The craft beer evaluation, held over two days on the 23rd and 24th, will assess the professionalism and popularity of the submitted beers through professional judges consisting of six beer and gourmet experts and general public judges, selecting one company as this year’s best beer and awarding a ‘Winner Certificate.’
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on the 25th at the special stage on the Jagalchi Market waterfront.
Starting with the opening event on the 23rd, various events such as ▲Craft Beer Showcase ▲Craft Beer Pop-up Store ▲Instant cooking using seafood ‘Namhang SEA Food Festa’ ▲Fishing Village Specialization Product Cooking Class ▲Pet Handmade Snack Flea Market will offer visitors enjoyment.
Lee Joon-seung, Director of the Digital Economy Innovation Office of the city, said, “We hope to strengthen the capabilities of Busan craft beer, expand sales channels for local merchants, and provide enjoyment to citizens,” adding, “Furthermore, we will support its development into Asia’s representative craft beer challenge.”
