Shinsegae Construction's 'Billiv Heritage' Introduces Owners Society in Suseong-gu, Daegu

The main setting of the movie 'The Great Gatsby' is a town around New York, USA. This place is where the ultra-wealthy gather and live, forming an "Owners Society" exclusive to them. The film depicts the lifestyle, culture, and interactions of these wealthy individuals in this setting. The protagonist, Gatsby, is also portrayed as someone striving to enter this wealthy league.

Just like in The Great Gatsby, for the rich, a home is more than just a residence; it is regarded as a venue where they form their own "Owners Society" and exchange culture.

In South Korea as well, it has long been known that wealthy neighborhoods serve as bases for exchanging information and opinions. Hannam-dong and Seongbuk-dong are representative areas where prominent chaebol families and high-ranking government officials’ detached houses were concentrated. These areas remain famous as places where the wealthy gather and form their own leagues.

While in the past, the concept of a 'district' at the dong (neighborhood) level, such as Hannam-dong and Seongbuk-dong, signified wealthy residential areas and venues for social exchange, from the 2000s onward, with the establishment of apartment culture, apartment complexes and luxury residential-commercial complexes themselves began to be recognized as homes for the wealthy and VIP Owners Societies.

A prime example is 'Tower Palace' located in Dogok-dong, Gangnam-gu. At the time, it was revolutionary with its high-rise, luxurious exterior, spacious medium-to-large units, swimming pool, and golf practice facilities. Declaring its intention to become a social venue for the wealthy, it attracted lawyers, professors, and executives from large corporations, evolving into a home and cultural exchange venue for the rich.

This change enabled the wealthy to establish their residences and social venues nationwide. After the emergence of Tower Palace, the wealthy began to show interest in luxury apartments and high-end residential facilities beyond Seoul and Gangnam. 'Haeundae I'Park' and 'LCT' in Haeundae, Busan, 'Doosan We've the Zenith,' 'Suseong SK Leaders View,' and 'Beomeo-dong Ilhaibill' in Suseong-gu, Daegu, are examples of residences for local wealthy individuals and continue to enhance their status as exclusive cultural exchange venues.

An industry insider stated, "In the real estate community 'Hogangnono,' there are stories that residents of Beomeo-dong Ilhaibill hold reunions of Kyungpook National University Medical School alumni in the elevator," adding, "These examples clearly show that the wealthy form their own Owners Society and share culture by living in the same space."

This fall, attention is focused on the supply of high-end real estate in Suseong-gu, Daegu’s affluent district, which is expected to redefine Daegu’s Owners Society. Shinsegae Construction plans to launch 'Belive Heritage' in October, consisting entirely of large units over 50 pyeong (approximately 165 square meters).

Belive Heritage will feature spaces and services befitting the symbolism of a high-end product and the formation of an Owners Society (their own league).

The complex plans to introduce a hotel-style sauna in the community facility called Heritage Club and specialize fitness and golf facilities to elevate the quality of the space. Additionally, it is scheduled to partner with Pacific Links, a global golf membership service, which is expected to form an exclusive Owners Society for Heritage residents, further enhancing the complex’s value.

Park Jae-kyung, CEO of Ground D Holdings Co., Ltd., the developer of Belive Heritage, said, "This complex, with a total of 146 households, will be supplied as a top-tier high-end complex, adding symbolic meaning as a product that only wealthy individuals in Daegu can own." He added, "Especially in Suseong-gu, Daegu, where the complex is being built, there is considerable waiting demand from those wanting to move from places like Doosan We've the Zenith, which has long been known as a wealthy residential area and is now well over 10 years since completion. The rarity of having all units as large-sized residences exclusively for affluent households is expected to increase interest even further."
