[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Juri] The coffin of the late Queen Elizabeth II was watched over by her dog and pony as it made its way to Windsor Castle.
On the 19th (local time), according to foreign media including The Washington Post, London was designated a public holiday, and the queen's funeral schedule was held throughout the day from early morning.
After the funeral at Westminster Abbey concluded, when the queen's coffin reached the 'Long Walk' path leading to her final resting place at Windsor Castle, her beloved black pony 'Emma' was there waiting for her. Emma stood on the lawn where bouquets brought by mourners were spread out, watching the queen pass by until the very end.
As the hearse arrived at the gates of Windsor Castle, the corgis 'Mick' and 'Sandy', who had come out to greet her in the courtyard, bid the queen a final farewell.
These dogs, entrusted to royal staff on leashes, seemed to understand the farewell with their ears and tails drooping, sitting quietly with their bottoms on the ground.
Mick and Sandy were gifts from Prince Andrew, the queen's second son, and former Princess Fergie during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in the UK last year.
After the queen's funeral proceedings conclude, Prince Andrew is expected to take them in and care for them.

Queen Elizabeth, who loved animals, raised about 30 dogs throughout her life. She was especially known to favor the Welsh Corgi breed, characterized by short legs, a long body, and a thick coat.
The corgi gained popularity when it appeared in the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony during a scene where Daniel Craig, the lead actor of the '007 series,' paid a visit to Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.
