Adding Hope Together with Multicultural Families
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] The Boseong-gun Family Center (Director Park Mi-seon) in Jeollanam-do announced that on the 17th (Sat), it successfully held the '2022 Boseong-gun Multicultural Family Unity Festival' at Boknae Sports Park Natural Grass Field with over 400 multicultural families and heads of local institutions and organizations.
Hosted by Boseong-gun and K-water Juam Branch and organized by the Boseong-gun Family Center, this event has established itself as a highly anticipated festival for multicultural families in the area, serving as a meeting place where multicultural families can communicate and harmonize.
This festival, which had been suspended for the past two years due to COVID-19, was newly relaunched amid great interest from the local community.
The event began with lively performances by local youth dance teams and invited singers, followed by a ceremony, generous prize draws, and various game activities involving multicultural families.
Side events included multicultural foods from various countries, a tea ceremony filled with the scent of green tea, and food tasting corners, along with a variety of experiences and rich programs that the whole family could enjoy.
County Governor Kim Cheol-woo stated, “We will create a global Boseong that respects diversity and lives together, and support multicultural family policies so that multicultural families can actively participate as leading members of our society.”
Currently, Boseong-gun has 324 households and over 1,300 multicultural family members. Through the Boseong-gun Family Center, various programs are supported, including customized education for stable settlement and social adaptation, Korean language education for job creation, and outreach tours to towns and townships.
Family Center Director Park Mi-seon said, “The Family Center will continue to take the lead in creating a social atmosphere where multicultural families can live proudly as members of the local community.”
