[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Gwi-yeol] Yeongyang County in Gyeongbuk is attracting attention by holding an event where they directly visit cities to enable farmers to sell their crops through direct transactions.
The Subi-myeon Administrative Welfare Center in Yeongyang County held a direct transaction event promoting Yeongyang County's agricultural and specialty products on the 20th at Nuri Children's Park in Maeho-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu, together with local farmers.
Employees of the Subi-myeon Administrative Welfare Center and six local farms participated in the direct transaction event. The products sold included dried chili peppers, chili powder, and dried greens, all crops from the Yeongyang region.
Yeongyang County is promoting direct transaction events so that urban residents can purchase safe and high-quality agricultural and specialty products at reasonable prices, while participating farmers can sell their products at fair prices, thereby increasing farm income and opening new sales channels.
A Daegu citizen who visited the event said, "I am very satisfied to be able to buy high-quality agricultural and specialty products, including Yeongyang chili peppers, at good prices, and I hope such events are held frequently."
Im Woo-gyu, head of Subi-myeon, said, "We will strive to promote Yeongyang County's agricultural and specialty products through direct transaction events and to foster mutual growth between urban consumers and producing farmers."
