[Asia Economy Reporter Bang Je-il] Grimes, the ex-girlfriend of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, suddenly revealed a photo of herself after plastic surgery, saying she wanted to have elf-like ears.

The Canadian pop singer Grimes posted a photo wrapped in medical bandages on Twitter on the 19th (local time) and wrote, "I did something crazy."

American entertainment and music media such as Page Six and Billboard reported that Grimes had recently openly expressed her desire to have pointed ears like an elf, and suggested that she might have undergone surgery to make her ears pointed like those of elves in movies.

Last month, Grimes posted on Twitter, "As a musician, getting elf ear plastic surgery seems risky, but I've wanted it my whole life," and asked for advice from those who had experience with the surgery.

Netizens who saw this gave mixed responses and sparked a debate. Musk even commented, "The disadvantages caused by elf ear surgery will outweigh the advantages."

Grimes and Musk were once in a romantic relationship. Around May 2018, at the Met Gala, Musk and Grimes publicly revealed that they were a couple. Their relationship began through Twitter. During their romance, both changed their profile pictures on Twitter to couple photos.

They also have a child together. In January 2020, Grimes announced on social media that she was pregnant with Musk's child. Later, around May 2020, she gave birth to a son with Musk, and they named their son 'X Æ A-12 Musk.'

However, under California law, names can only be registered using the 26 letters of the Roman alphabet. Musk later changed the child's name to 'X Æ A-Xⅱ.'

Musk appeared on a podcast hosted by comedian Joe Rogan and explained, "X is just X, and Æ is pronounced 'Ash,'" providing additional details about his son's name.

Their relationship did not last long. They were a couple for three years from 2018 before breaking up. Musk publicly acknowledged their separation in September last year, stating that he was living apart from Grimes.
