[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] The disaster volunteer group in Daejeon affiliated with Hanwha General Insurance announced on the 19th that, together with the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association's university student volunteer group, they conducted home repair volunteer activities for seven vulnerable households in Doma 1 and 2-dong, recommended by Seo-gu Office of Daejeon Metropolitan City, on the 17th.
Following the activity in Bansong-dong, Busan Metropolitan City in May, this event, the second of the year, involved about 70 volunteers who improved living environments using eco-friendly wallpaper and flooring materials.
To prevent fire accidents that may occur in aging buildings, fire detectors were installed, and window screens and fluorescent lights were also replaced. In November, they plan to extend their support to Daegu Metropolitan City.
A Hanwha General Insurance official stated, "We will continue to pay attention and engage in activities to help elderly living alone, disabled persons, and low-income households, who have limited disaster response capabilities, create a safe living environment by supplementing aging facilities."
