[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) will conduct an "Autumn CLEAN Big Cleanup" across all 14 neighborhoods in the district for about an hour starting from 7 a.m. on the 21st.

About 1,000 people including community leaders, members of local professional organizations, residents, and public officials will participate, and Mayor Lee Seong-heon will join residents in Sinchon-dong for the cleanup activities.

They will focus on checking for illegal dumping in their assigned areas, picking up trash, maintaining road flowerpots, and removing illegal postings.

Additionally, a campaign will be held to inform residents about the days for household waste disposal and methods for separating recyclables.

Earlier, on the 7th of this month, Mayor Lee also worked alongside sanitation workers from 5 a.m. for about an hour cleaning the Sinchon Myeongmul-gil and Yonsei-ro areas, and plans to participate in about ten more cleanup activities by the end of this year.

Mayor Lee Seong-heon said, "I sincerely thank the residents who joined the early morning autumn cleanup, and I will work even harder to make Seodaemun-gu clean and pleasant."

Seodaemun-gu is accelerating efforts to create a clean urban environment by promptly resolving household waste complaints and strengthening illegal dumping crackdowns through an information-sharing room operated jointly by the district's illegal dumping control team, mobile cleaning team, and neighborhood community center staff.

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) foreign resident volunteer group, composed of multicultural families, has actively stepped up to protect the environment.

On the 17th, about 60 residents including the foreign resident volunteer group and family volunteer group from Dongdaemun-gu Family Center (Director Han Mi-young) conducted trash collection activities and an environmental campaign around Cheonggyecheon Stream and Yongdu-dong.

This campaign, led mainly by the foreign resident volunteer group, was planned to protect the local environment through volunteer activities and to support immigrants' natural participation in community activities.

On that day, volunteers collected trash around the stream and pedestrian paths through "plogging," an activity combining walking or running with picking up litter. They also held a placard campaign with messages encouraging environmental protection in daily life and an environmental protection participation pledge.

Han Mi-young, Director of Dongdaemun-gu Family Center, said, "All volunteers participated passionately with affection for the community, allowing us to see clean streets free of litter," and added, "We will continue to run various volunteer programs centered on the foreign resident volunteer group to help multicultural families living in Dongdaemun-gu naturally settle as members of the community."
