[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] A special concert presenting popular game music performed by an orchestra is coming to audiences.

Lotte Concert Hall announced on the 19th that it will hold 'GAME ON!', a performance featuring various game soundtracks, on October 8th at 7 PM.

Previously, 'GAME ON!' premiered in January 2020 at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., invited by the National Symphony Orchestra, and sold out all seats. Music from games such as League of Legends (LOL), Lost Ark, PUBG, Diablo, Assassin's Creed, Civilization, and Overwatch will be performed by an orchestra for 100 minutes, accompanied by HD video.

About 100 artists, including the Hankyung Arte Philharmonic Orchestra and the Noi Opera Choir, will participate in this performance. Andy Brick, a conductor recognized for his expertise in game music, will visit Korea to lead a high-quality stage.

Andy Brick is a conductor and composer who has directly participated in live concerts and soundtrack recordings for Super Mario Brothers, Final Fantasy, World of Warcraft, and the Assassin's Creed series. Through activities in film, video games, and concerts, he is expanding the boundaries of music.

In a 2003 interview with The New York Times (NYT), Andy Brick said, "In the rapidly evolving field of games, I see a rosy future for orchestral music, and game music is an amazing outlet for composers," adding, "The myth of game music has already begun to spread widely, and now game music will establish its identity as a genre," predicting the revival of game music.

In particular, Andy Brick is credited with setting a historic milestone for game music by presenting a game music concert with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra at the Gewandhaus Concert Hall in 2003. Since then, he has been recognized as a champion of game music by conducting numerous game soundtracks with orchestras worldwide, including the Seattle Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra, Czech National Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Omaha Symphony, Oregon Symphony, and Houston Symphony.

A representative of Lotte Concert Hall said, "Recently, game music has been performed not only by domestic orchestras but also at classical music festivals with history and tradition such as the BBC Proms. Lotte Concert Hall paved the way for the revival of domestic game concerts by presenting the 'Final Fantasy Concert: Distant Worlds' in 2018," adding, "'GAME ON!' will be a special time where game enthusiasts can enjoy excitement and music lovers can experience a new music genre reborn through high-quality symphonic arrangements."

The 'GAME ON!' game music concert tickets can be purchased on the Lotte Concert Hall website and Interpark.
