Jangseong-gun Promotes 'Free Flu Vaccinations' for High-Risk Groups

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 19th that it will promote ‘free flu vaccinations’ for high-risk groups.

With the possibility of simultaneous outbreaks of the novel COVID-19 and flu this fall, it is more important than ever to prevent the flu through active vaccination.

The free vaccination support targets residents aged 65 and older, pregnant women, and children aged 6 months to 13 years, with vaccination periods varying by age group.

Children aged 6 months to under 9 years receiving the flu vaccine for the first time in their life can get vaccinated starting from the 21st, while children aged 9 and older and pregnant women can be vaccinated from the 5th of next month until April 30 of next year.

Seniors aged 65 and older can be vaccinated from the 12th of next month until December 31 of this year, and vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients can be vaccinated starting from the 24th of next month.

Residents in the area who wish to be vaccinated outside the support target can receive paid vaccinations at health centers and health clinics from the 31st of next month until vaccine supplies last.

A health center official said, “When visiting, you must bring identification that can verify eligibility for free vaccination, such as an ID card or pregnancy confirmation certificate,” and added, “Since the number of vaccinations available at each medical institution is limited, please be sure to check availability before visiting.”

For more details, contact the county health center vaccination office.
