[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Hi Investment & Securities forecasted on the 19th that Rainbow Robotics will highlight growth potential in both the collaborative robot and military robot sectors.
Researcher Lee Sang-heon of Hi Investment & Securities stated, "In an environment where the collaborative robot market is expanding, overseas sales growth will become visible from next year due to price competitiveness and rapid responsiveness."
Collaborative robots generally refer to robotic arms (manipulators) composed of six or more joints. They are mechanical devices that move to the position and orientation requested by the user in three-dimensional space.
The researcher analyzed, "Since they have built-in safety features and can be used in the same space as workers, they are utilized in a wider range of fields compared to traditional industrial robots," adding, "As industries where collaborative robots can be applied continue to expand, demand for collaborative robots is rapidly increasing, especially in advanced countries such as the United States."
Currently, Denmark's 'Universal Robots' leads the collaborative robot market. However, with the entry of existing industrial robot companies and Chinese firms, more than 50 companies are participating, intensifying competition. Since there is little differentiation in product specifications among companies, various services such as price competitiveness, maintenance, and provision of usable solutions are becoming important.
The researcher emphasized, "Rainbow Robotics' greatest competitiveness lies in its core components, software, and control algorithms developed in-house."
He added, "With the technology secured through in-house development, they can not only achieve cost competitiveness but also quickly respond to market changes and customer demands," and forecasted, "As demand for collaborative robots rapidly increases mainly in advanced countries such as the United States, overseas sales growth will become visible from next year due to price competitiveness and rapid responsiveness."
Meanwhile, growth potential is also expected in the military robot sector. Market research firm Allied Market Research projects that the global military robot market will reach $34.6 billion by 2030.
The researcher predicted, "Globally, the modernization of weapons is underway, and among them, the number of military personnel inevitably continues to decrease, so military robots that can replace them are expected to grow rapidly."
He continued, "In June, Rainbow Robotics was selected as the lead institution for a national project on dual-use technology development by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, and will develop technology to equip multi-legged walking robots with robotic arms to perform military missions by 2027."
