Honam University 2023 Early Admission Records 4.6 to 1 Ratio

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Honam University (President Park Sangcheol) recorded an average competition rate of 4.6 to 1, with 7,237 applicants competing for 1,572 spots, which is 99.2% of the total quota (1,584) in the '2023 Academic Year Early Admission'.


According to Honam University on the 18th, in this early admission, the Department of Physical Therapy had 443 applicants for 38 spots, showing a competition rate of 11.7 to 1; the Department of Clinical Pathology had 234 applicants for 25 spots, with a rate of 9.4 to 1; the Department of Nursing had 1,272 applicants for 150 spots, with a rate of 8.5 to 1; and the Department of Emergency Medical Services had 337 applicants for 50 spots, with a rate of 6.7 to 1.


Additionally, the Department of Dental Hygiene had 281 applicants for 42 spots, with a competition rate of 6.7 to 1; the Department of eSports Industry had 224 applicants for 35 spots, with a rate of 6.4 to 1; the Department of Culinary Arts had 328 applicants for 60 spots, with a rate of 5.5 to 1; and the Department of Early Childhood Education had 214 applicants for 40 spots, with a rate of 5.4 to 1.


Honam University will announce the first-stage successful candidates for the general student selection in the Departments of Nursing, Dental Hygiene, and Physical Therapy on October 7, following the application deadline.


After interviews on October 27, the university plans to announce the final successful candidates for departments without the CSAT minimum score requirement on November 4. However, for departments where the CSAT minimum score applies, the final successful candidates will be announced on December 13.


Honam University provides AI Talent Scholarships to all successful candidates, and depending on CSAT scores, offers full tuition exemption for four years or additional academic encouragement scholarships of up to 300,000 KRW per month for one year, which can be combined.


For students who do not receive merit scholarships, the university also supports department head recommended scholarships considering family circumstances.


In particular, Honam University offers a special admission preparation scholarship unique to the university, granting 100,000 KRW per certificate up to 400,000 KRW for certificates obtained from the time of early admission success until March 2023, including Computer Utilization Ability Certification, Word Processor, Driver’s License, Korean History Proficiency Test, and various language proficiency scores.


Furthermore, the university implements a wide range of scholarship programs, including special scholarships for adult learners and housewives, family scholarships, and alumni scholarships.
